Community Wisdom Partners was created in 2014 and operates from Barcelona, Amsterdam, Abu Dhabi and Ecuador, serving clients around the world. We collaborate with international consultants and subject matter experts as needed to best meet project needs.

Katinka C. Van Cranenburgh

Dr Katinka C. Van Cranenburgh

Katinka (Dutch) is a specialist in Social Risk Management and Corporate Social Responsibility. She has expertise in aligning companies´ policies and practices with IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles, most recent in the energy sector in the Middle East. She has over 16 years of corporate experience at Heineken in sub-Sahara Africa and South East Asia practicing stakeholder engagement, public-private healthcare partnerships, human rights and corporate philanthropy. As a social performance specialist, she has provided strategy and technical advice, training and coaching and CSR studies in the food & beverage, oil & gas, mining and NGO sector.

Katinka provides both in-house and online training, assessment and coaching for companies, regular lectures at business schools and in-house speaking assignments for companies and non-profit organisations.

Researcher and visiting lecturer for the ESADE Institute of Social Innovation, she holds a PhD from Erasmus University, Rotterdam School of Management, and a master's degree in International Business Administration (University of Amsterdam). She is fluent in English and Dutch and has good command of Spanish.

Rob Denny

Rob Denny

Rob (British) is a sustainability professional working with the natural resource industry to address Social Risk. Over his professional life, he has lived and worked in developing countries for 20 years, mostly in East and West Africa. He has been engaged with the extractive sector since 2006, following 12 years in international development and 6 years as a diplomat. He is currently consulting with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

He is experienced in quickly understanding complex social and political situations, and defining effective courses of action. He has managed community relations teams for major Mining and O&G companies, as well as development and humanitarian programmes for international NGOs.

Rob holds a Masters Degree in African Studies from SOAS (University of London) and a BA (Hons) in Modern History from the University of Oxford, as well as a post-graduate diploma in Conflict Transformation from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He wrote his post-graduate thesis on the relationship between oil companies and local communities in the Niger Delta. He is fluent in English and Spanish, with a working knowledge of Portuguese, French and Swahili.

Chiqui Arregui

Chiqui Arregui

Chiqui (Venezuelan/Spanish) is a senior social development specialist with 20 years of experience in designing, supporting, managing and evaluating project interventions.

Her first-hand management experience of 15 years in the Southern Africa region underlies her understanding of the dynamic and often challenging contexts in which projects unfold.

As a consultant she works with stakeholders to support their understanding of and capacity to manage social risks compromising core outcomes and goals. She serves as strategic or technical advisor and regularly performs social assessments, reviews and evaluations for large and complex operations with the view to enhance social performance. She brings clarity to social heterogeneity and power relations. Chiqui is particularly interested in socio-economic and gender relations and sensitive to the need to recognise the role of youth.

Chiqui holds a Masters Degree in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She is proficient in Spanish, English and Portuguese, and has good command of French.

Christiaan Luca

Christiaan Luca

Christiaan (Dutch) is a specialist in societal risk management and organisational change. He has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Shell. During his first 14 years he held various engineering roles in oil and gas field development in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Back in the Netherlands he lead various corporate teams in competitive technical intelligence, strategy and planning, organisational change, CO2 management and sustainable development.

Christiaan provides both in-house and online training, assessment and coaching to companies who wish to fully integrate sustainability principles in their business decision-making practices, including internal collaboration, process alignment and cultural change. Most recently he has designed and implemented the societal risk management program across all business sectors in Shell.

Christiaan holds a BSc in Mining Engineering and a MSc in Petroleum Engineering, both from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He has been elected by the Society of Petroleum Engineers as Distinguished Lecturer for the 2018-2019 lecture season on the topic of non-technical (or societal) risk management. He is fluent in English and Dutch, and has a working knowledge of French. Christiaan also represents the legal entity NTRospective Advice.

Juan Diego Borbor

Juan Diego Borbor

Juan Diego (Ecuadorian) has worked as an analyst and researcher as well as a teacher in multiple fields such as world history and politics. He holds a Master’s Degree in International Security by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universitat de Barcelona, and Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

His work has focused in establishing international social performance standards compliance in terms of social risk management, stakeholder engagement, and human rights due diligence. His interests lie in geopolitics, oil and gas, and humanitarian and development issues. Having joined social performance consulting in early 2019, Juan Diego has gained experience in the Middle East and Latin America. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

As part of his Master’s thesis, he researched the international convergence of governments, hydrocarbon industry, and indigenous peoples for the sustainable development of the Andean Amazon basin.

Anthony Jack Tchilinguirian

Anthony Jack Tchilinguirian

Anthony (Armenian) is a strategy and communications professional who worked across the Middle East for an eclectic range of industries and economic sectors. Throughout his career, Anthony served as the primary communications subject matter expert for some of the largest Groups in Saudi Arabia and the UAE as well as part of the Communications and Stakeholder Management team in Basrah Gas Company (a Royal Dutch Shell joint venture).

Holding a BA in International Relations from the American University of Sharjah, his forte lies in stakeholder management and strategic internal as well as external communication in the context of complex political, social and economic settings. Anthony speaks English, Arabic and Armenian fluently.
